Big time kickboxing is back in Northern Ireland this weekend – well it’s big time for the 22 new beginners who will don the gloves for the very first time this Sunday.ProKick members who are taking part in the Kickboxing extravaganza on August 16 were well and truly sticking the ‘Boot In’ as they faced early morning runs and pad work. The wannabe fighters found out what it takes to really get fit and prepare themselves for a simple 3x2 minute round fight, set for this Sunday. Hah! There is nothing simple about stepping into the ring and they all know that now.

Event Details
Top of the bill is a K1 style fight featuring Killinchy’s Mauler Barrie Oliver against tough Scottish opponent Mikey Shields. This event is now sold out, so stay tuned for results and reports.

If you are a budding kickboxer and would like to appear on the NEXT event, strictly for beginners, 1st and 2nd timers then please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with the subject  “I Wanna be a Champion – Get me in the Ring”

TO late to purchase your tickets the event is SOLD-OUT

Some recent changes to the fight card, however we still have a cracking fight card with more to add.

News and up-dates: Ross Hamilton has had to exit due to a perforated ear drum through sparring, his opponent will now face Chris Hopkins whose opponent Derek Lawler is also out due to illness. So no harm done there.

Mark Bready hasn’t been able to return after sustaining an injury during sparring, he hopes to be back on the next event. Laura Newton from Ken Horan Kickboxing in Galway was deemed unfit by Ken Horan and has been withdrawn.

Victor Murrell from Lurgan MMA is out due to injury and has been replaced by Anthony Tipper, another novice.

ProKick's Thomas McKee has weighed in 5 kilo lighter after a weeks boot camp and will now face  Robert Dempsey from Galway.

New additions Dani Mc Aloram from Lurgan MMA will face Shane O Malley  from Gan Teora Dublin.

Hey everyone, just thought I’d leave a message to wish everyone luck for Sunday if you’re fighting!!

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m so keen to get it started! I have lived my fight about 100 times already at night and I’ve been told off for twitching a bit too violently in my sleep by the missus!! lol

I feel fitter than I ever have done and I really hope we all do Mr Murray and the team proud on Sunday by giving it our all!

The boot camp has been amazing and the fact that we are training for a reason, as opposed to just for fitness purposes, has been a big factor for me personally. I’ve been impressed at the dedication of everyone and glad to be part of the event with all of the other fighters!

If anyone is thinking of doing this for the next event, I highly recommend it. The boot camp, the extra lessons on technique, the build up to the event, the constant watching of the scales and the harder than normal training sessions make the weeks before the fight some of the best you’ll ever have!!

And hopefully this will all be capped off with a Win!

See you all on Sunday and if you haven’t got your tickets… Get Them!!!!!!!

Well this mornings Surprize bootcamp AT 5.45am was as usual quite fast paced with 3 laps of the gym then inside for rounds on the pads….non stop punching exercises and boy does it make your arms and shoulders burn..
so that along with last nights surprize class really has shown everyones great fitness and will to go for it..

Amatuer fighters training professional fighter style,
trained by the best..to be the best..nothing can beat it..

now on to my melon for breakfast as i sit here 2 hours early for work waiting on some customers…
wish i got paid overtime, id be worth a fortune by now with all these early starts…
