Three of Northern Ireland’s brightest kickboxing hopes Ian Young, Barrie Oliver and Mark Bird are heading to Switzerland next week to face one of the toughest tests of their careers. The trio, who have excited the entire Irish kickboxing community with their successes in the ring, head to Martigny. The three will compete on an international bill that sees the very best of amateur talent from Northern Ireland, take on the home favourites Switzerland.

Event Details

The team is headed by former football star Ian Young, now current European WKN champion. Unbeaten Killinchy fighter Barrie Oliver will try and make it 7 out of 7 as he makes his first trip to the UN Capital.

Teenager Mark Bird from Lisburn is on his second trip to the Alps. The 17 year old fought in a light contact bout last December in Villars and drew and he is looking for a win this time.
