This was Mark’s return to the ring after a shocking defeat last month - the teenager Bird needed a big result and that’s what he produced, said team mate Gary Fullerton. “ Mark showed why he could go all the way, he’s only 17 and has so much talent and appetite for the fight game, he won every round and at times I thought he could have stopped Fraserburgh’s Chris Urquhart but the tough Scott had plans of his own.”
He went on to say "Its onwards and upwards now for young Mark - that win was just what was needed - an extra boost for him and back on winning form.”
