When announced that the KICKmas Box event was taking place it was hoped that Chantal would take part at the Waterfront Hall on December 1, the promoters were inundated with messages of support from fans – alongside demands that she was given a place.

However, despite her massive popularity, Irish kickboxing lynchpin Billy Murray is refusing to book her – yet… “I’m just not sure if I want her back,” said Murray “We booked her for KICKmas III  when she fought Dubliner Barbara Delaney at the Ulster Hall. It was a great fight. Menard won, eventually, after a tough fight and she delighted the crowd. But her demands were just too much! She made incredible demands for her hotel and food. She was the hardest work I’ve come across in 30 years in the game, one day she was fighting the next she wasn't. She makes Mariah Carey look reasonable.

“But it’s true that fans love here. I’ve had dozens and dozens of emails and calls from people asking for her to be added.”

The KICKmas 2008 event is supported by the Belfast City Council's support for sport programme and sponsored by Schwarzkopf international.
The event will also be screened on Setanta Sports on the December 4 at 10pm in a two hour special.

Tickets are still available for the biggest kickboxing show of the year, December 1 at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.
